Fidan said in a joint press conference with his Czech counterpart / Jan Lipavsky / today, Tuesday, in the capital Ankara: "The humanitarian tragedy in Gaza continues" and that Turkey "has not and will not remain silent about Israel's continued efforts to expand its territories and steal the lands of our Palestinian brothers."
He added: "We will continue to raise our voice in international forums to end the repression in Gaza and we will mobilize all diplomatic means to do so."
Fidan stressed that Ankara supports all initiatives aimed at a ceasefire in the Strip, and that the path to a solution is to implement the two-state solution.
He pointed out that the number of countries recognizing the Palestinian state has increased and that Turkey will work tirelessly in the coming period to increase this number.
Spain, Norway, Ireland, Slovenia and Armenia have announced their recognition of the State of Palestine, following the devastating Israeli war on the Gaza Strip since last October, and the escalation of Israeli restrictions on Palestinians in the occupied West Bank./End
