Baghdad /NINA/ -The official spokesman for the Iraqi National Security Service, Arshad Al-Hakim, announced the detection of electronic fraud attempts via the WhatsApp application. Attackers lure citizens by requesting the application's verification code to take control of accounts and exploit them to request funds, steal credit card information, and spread malicious links.
The INSS stressed in a statement that "confronting these attempts requires caution, refraining from sharing any code or personal data, and not interacting with suspicious accounts or links. It is also necessary to immediately report to the competent authorities if exposed or suspected."
The Iraqi National Security Service stressed that protecting citizens and their data is a national priority, and that awareness and vigilance constitute the first line of defense against these fraudulent methods./ End
