The statement reads: Our city of Nasiriyah, revolting in the face of injustice over the passage of history, has demonstrated the heroism and courage of its people, and it is a city that has never and will not kneel and has been resistant to the occupiers and oppressive authorities since the former regime and throughout history. Nasiriyah presented brave heroes who stood in the face of death when Iraq needed them, and they were not stingy to sacrifice for it. And when the blessed October Revolution began, (The Men of Al-Nasiriyah) wrote the most wonderful pictures of heroism and steadfastness, and Nasiriyah offered its sons as an offering of freedom and dignity.
The statement added "recently, and after suspending the sit-in and continuing the legitimate peaceful protest, the security forces carried out arbitrary arrests of peaceful demonstrators and targeted their homes, and despite the commitment of the crisis cell formed by the government to make the city stable, it put the white on the rice against its people and helped the corrupt, and what happened recently in the campaigns of arbitrary arrests pushed us to make regional escalation to pressure for the release of innocent detainees and to stop targeting peaceful demonstrators, and after the detainees are released, the escalation will stop and calm will return, on the condition that no peaceful demonstrator is arrested or targeted, and if the opposite happens, we are fully prepared and ready to escalate with greater force never witnessed by the government.
The statement called on the competent authorities to work on dropping all charges and malicious lawsuits to prevent the occurrence of clashes that spark sedition in the governorate.
The statement added "We also offer thanks and appreciation to all the revolutionaries from the beloved Iraqi governorates, and we pledge to them to continue the revolution until the goal of our righteous martyrs is achieved. / End
