BAGHDAD (NINA) - Speaker of the House of Representatives Mohammed al-Halbousi met with the head of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Massoud Barzani.

Speaker of the House of Representatives Mohammed Halbousi called to strengthen the relationship between the region and the federal government to achieve national partnerships and enhance the stability and sovereignty of Iraq, pointing out: "The points of controversy can be addressed in accordance with the Constitution and constructive dialogue and partnership between all components of the Iraqi people."

Halbousi, during his meeting in Erbil today with President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party Massoud Barzani, expressed concern about the situation and tensions in the region, stressing the need for calm and avoid conflict to maintain stability.

For his part, Massoud Barzani pointed out the need for sincere intentions to solve all controversial problems, and to provide an atmosphere of social and national reconciliation rather than a culture of hatred and exclusion, noting that "the Kurds are a key partner in the country, and there is cooperation and convergence in many issues with the federal government."/ End
