Iraq entered the curfew for conducting the population census at 12 midnight last Tuesday, and will continue until midnight tomorrow, Thursday.
The Ministry of Planning announced that 120,000 researchers will participate in the general census, and they are known by an official "badge" and a special uniform. 40,000 researchers have also been trained to record population census data, as the census process will be distributed by 100 families, with each researcher to record their basic data.
The announcement of the preliminary results will include the general census (number of females + number of males) and the population of each governorate.
The 2024 general population and housing census will be conducted, after the last population census conducted by Iraq in 1987, which included all governorates, followed by the 1997 census, which was conducted without the participation of the governorates of the Kurdistan Region./End
