"The villages of Mayyah on the outskirts of the city of Muqdadiya have launched a distress call as a result of repeated terrorist attacks and mortar shelling," Adnan al-Tamimi, head of the provincial council of Muqdadiya, told NINA.
He added: "There are previous demands for military intervention to end ISIS activity in the region, but in avail."
Al-Tamimi called on the government to take measures to save the people of these villages from the specter of mortars, and to clear areas from which mortar shells are fired, most notably Al-Hafiyar near the district./ End
