Najaf /NINA/ -The leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, considered Iraq to be among the first Arab countries to combat sectarianism and strive for Islamic unity.
This came in response to a question submitted by one of his followers.
He said in his answer, "I believe that Iraq is the first in terms of warding off abhorrent sectarianism and striving for Islamic unity... in that it is the capital of the Commander of the Faithful, Ali (peace be upon him), who said: "People are of two types: either your brother in religion or your equal in creation... This is a great Islamic human unity from which many followers of the Imam have unfortunately distanced themselves." /End
