Erdogan added in his speech today, Friday, on the occasion of the 156th anniversary of the founding of the State Council in Turkey: The State Council is a guarantor of the implementation of justice and the application of the law, noting that “the main goal of all legal institutions, whatever their name, is to achieve justice.”
Erdogan stressed that the Turkish people had previously faced many cases of lack of justice and injustice, and that the justice system was frequently subjected to attacks by coup parties, the latest of which was the Fethullah Gulen group, noting that the coup plotters wanted to undermine justice in Turkey, but they failed to achieve that.
The Turkish President stressed the need to impose censorship on the media and media outlets. And that these forums not turn into tools for pressure,” noting that “incitement campaigns on social media are exposed to workers in judicial institutions and the law.”
Erdogan said: “The political institution is not above accountability and criticism, nor are the institutions of the judiciary and the law. If the judiciary’s decisions are unsatisfactory, people have the right to criticize them. But incitement against our judicial institutions and distorting the image of their members are unacceptable matters.”
He added: "The impartiality and independence of the judiciary must be preserved, away from political tensions, and it cannot be accepted that the judiciary is biased towards one party or another./End
