Baghdad / NINA / - MP for the Parliamentary Integrity Committee, Alia Nassif, has renewed her warning against the attempts of some corrupt persons in the Ministry of Electricity to pass the deal to rehabilitate the first and second Baiji stations by sending a monopoly invitation to Siemens, with which Orascom will enter as a secondary contractor, and indicated that corruption in this contract reaches terrifying numbers.


In a press release, Nassif indicated that she had previously warned of the attempts of corrupt individuals, among them (W), to contract with Siemens, with which Orascom will enter as a subcontractor to be a cover for the plunder of millions of dollars, and this prospective contract will be based on a monopoly invitation sent by the Public Company for Production Electricity in the northern region.


She added, "What happened recently is that the appraisal committee issued a report in which many of the works that were included in the contract were deleted, such as the construction of a building for administration, a workshop, a guesthouse, green spaces, a mosque, a clinic, a concrete fence, etc. ... so the cost of the two projects (Baiji 1 and 2) became 846 million and 773 thousand euros, but the Siemens company kept the same prices in agreement with the godfather of the deal (w.kh) and did not reduce it permanently, and all that happened was only the removal of the excess work by the appraisal committee.



She went on to say, "the corrupt in the ministry have been waiting for the passage of this contract and have been planning for it for a long time, and perhaps after completing the contract they flee abroad because they will get enough money for their grandchildren and they will not need a pension, and the opportunity is still available to the state and its regulatory agencies to stop this suspicious contract and prevent waste the money of the Iraqi people and going into the pockets of the corrupt. "


Nassif called on the Anti-Corruption Committee headed by Ahmed Abu Ragheef and the Integrity Commission to pursue the corrupt (W.K.) and his father, saying: “We hold the committee and the commission responsible in the event that this contract is passed, and we hope that this statement is considered an official communication since the date of its publication so that all regulatory authorities bear responsibility. In the event that this corrupt deal is concluded, noting that the Budget and the Investigation Committee on Corruption of Electricity Contracts emphasized the abolition of monopoly. ”/ End
