Council of Ministers Votes on the New "House of Wisdom" (Bayt al-Hikmah) Draft Law
Baghdad/NINA/ — The Council of Ministers voted yesterday on the new draft law for the Iraqi "House of Wisdom" (Bayt al-Hikmah).
In a statement, the House of Wisdom noted: "The Council of Ministers held its session, chaired by Prime Minister Ali Falih al-Zaidi. Following close follow-up by Naeem al-Aboudi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the House of Wisdom, the new law will transform the institution into the largest governmental research body, encompassing various specialized centers focused on political, economic, social, religious, philosophical, legal, and historical fields, among others."
The new law also aims to expand the mandate of the House of Wisdom regarding planning and the formulation of public policy for the country—particularly following its designation as an advisory institution to the Office of the Prime Minister—while also granting it greater capacity to establish research partnerships and enter into international scientific and cultural agreements. /End
