Istanbul / NINA / - The Turkish Ministry of Defense announced the killing of one of its infantry soldiers in the area of Operation Claw Lock, in an attack by Kurdish militants in northern Iraq.
The Turkish Defense stated in a statement today, Thursday, that a soldier was wounded in an attack by the separatist "PKK" targeting a Turkish military base in the region. He was transferred to a hospital and died there.
In its statement, the Turkish Defense published a picture of the slain soldier.
The Turkish Defense had announced earlier the killing of four officers and fifteen soldiers in its operations against the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) militants in northern Iraq, bringing the Turkish Defense officially announced the losses of the Turkish army in the operations of what it called “claw lock” the killing of four officers and sixteen soldiers and wounding 10 others since its operations began on the 18th of last April./End
