Istanbul / NINA /- The Turkish Defense Ministry announced the killing of 9 militants from the banned Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in airstrikes carried out by Turkish warplanes on PKK sites in the Kara and Hakurk regions as part of the Claw Lock operations in northern Iraq.

The Turkish Defense Ministry explained in a statement today that the airstrikes carried out by Turkish warplanes resulted in the killing of 6 in the Hakurk region, and 3 in Kara in northern Iraq.

The Turkish Defense Ministry indicated in a statement today, Friday, that the banned Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) has its stronghold in the Qandil Mountains in northern Iraq, and is active in many cities, regions and valleys, and launches attacks from there on the Turkish interior, and that the Turkish army is working hard to dry up the sources of terrorism.

It is noteworthy that the Turkish army had carried out a large-scale military operation on April 18, 2021, and it is still ongoing, called Lock the Claw against the strongholds of the Kurdistan Workers' Party organization in the areas of Metina, Kara, Hakurk, Zap, Afshin and Bazian in northern Iraq. / End
