Al-Sudani assures the sheikhs of the Taji tribes... Not participating in the elections is a squandering of citizens' right to choose their representatives
A statement from the Prime Minister's Office stated that al-Sudani received the sheikhs and notables of the Taji tribes north of Baghdad on Sunday, in the presence of Representative Alia Nassif.
Al-Sudani expressed his appreciation for the role of Representative Alia Nassif and her interest and keenness to follow up on citizens' affairs and issues, noting that Iraqi society, with all its components, is cohesive and unified and has been able to overcome sectarian, ethnic, and regional strife with the awareness and wisdom of its components, foremost among them the authentic Arab tribes.
The Prime Minister emphasized that failure to participate in the elections would be a denial of citizens' right to choose their representatives. Active participation and the selection of the most qualified candidates are essential for the continuation of the reconstruction and development process. He emphasized that citizens' needs have always been and continue to be at the forefront of our government's priorities, whose formation nearly three years ago provided an opportunity to restore the relationship between the state and its citizens.
Al-Sudani said: "We worked to provide basic services and the principles of decent living, security, and stability. We formed a service and engineering effort team that contributed to reducing costs and accelerating progress in areas that had not seen any services for years."
He added: "We completed 511 projects in Baghdad and the governorates during the short period of the government's term, and we were able to address 2,358 stalled projects across Iraq, valued at 131 trillion dinars, including eight hospitals in Baghdad."
He continued: "We also completed projects to relieve traffic congestion in Baghdad and the governorates, a project the capital has not seen since the 1980s."
He emphasized that the government has focused on developing and rehabilitating Baghdad's entrances, including the northern entrance, according to the latest specifications. He also stressed that we have made double efforts to provide services and rehabilitate areas on the outskirts of the capital.
He added, "We have completed important infrastructure projects in the districts of Abu Ghraib, Nahrawan, Al-Wahda, and Sabaa Al-Bour. Our work on all infrastructure projects was based on a scientific vision and approach and achieved positive results."
He emphasized that the government has achieved important structural reforms, particularly in the economic sector.
He continued, "We have developed real solutions to address the fuel crisis through projects implemented by international companies and supported by national efforts. Self-sufficiency in fuel will save Iraq nearly $4 billion that had been allocated for gas imports."
He emphasized that security and stability must be maintained in Iraq, which is the state's duty, along with the support and assistance of tribes.
He pointed out that the scourge of drugs is a threat to society, and that efforts and cooperation are required to combat this phenomenon.
He continued, "We are working to provide job opportunities for youth and graduates by signing contracts with companies and launching projects in various sectors."
Al-Sudani emphasized that Iraq has become a safe investment environment, and there is strong interest from Arab and foreign companies to operate there.
He added, "We have been able to preserve the interests of Iraq and Iraqis through a balanced, wise, and responsible policy that has helped us overcome the repercussions of events in the region and spared the country proxy wars."
He emphasized that there is regional and international praise for Iraq's position, considering it part of the stability in the region. /End
