Baghdad / NINA /– The Ministry of Oil announced on Tuesday the signing of a contract between the Oil Exploration Company and KAR Company to conduct 2D and 3D seismic surveys in the Sasan and Allan oil fields in Nineveh Governorate.

The signing ceremony was held under the auspices of Minister of Oil Basim Mohammed Khudair Al-Abadi, in the presence of the Undersecretary for Extraction Affairs, the Undersecretary for Gas Affairs, ministry advisers, and directors general of relevant departments and companies.

In a statement, the ministry said that Al-Abadi attended the signing ceremony for the contract between the Oil Exploration Company and Iraqi company KAR for the implementation of 2D and 3D seismic surveys in the exploration blocks of the Sasan and Allan fields.

The minister affirmed the ministry’s commitment to implementing its strategic plans in line with the government’s vision to revitalize exploration activities, add new oil and gas reserves, and compensate for depleted reserves.

Al-Abadi stressed the importance of completing the project within the specified timeframes and developing the two fields successfully to increase oil and gas production, in line with the directives of the government and the Ministry of Oil.

He also commended the efforts of the ministry’s various departments in implementing projects included in its plans to increase production capacity. /End
