Amara / NINA /- A security source announced that a police patrol was exposed to shooting by gunmen, on the (Maimuna - Majar) road in Maysan.
The source told the correspondent of the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA): "The patrol was transporting detainees, according to Article 406, to the court, and it was exposed to fire by gunmen belonging to the same clan as the detainees."
The source added that the shooting caused the death of a passerby, the injury of a police officer, and the escape of the gunmen.
He pointed out that the gunmen were identified and pursued in order to arrest them./ End
