"It was decided during the meeting of President Hassan Rouhani and Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhmi to raise the volume of trade exchange between the two countries to 20 billion dollars annually," Mahmoud Wazi, Director of the office of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, told reporters on the sidelines of the Rouhani and Al-Kadhimi meeting today in Tehran.
He added that Iraq, as an influential Arab country in the region, and given its close relations with Iran, it can develop its energies and capabilities in order to promote peace, stability and security in the region thanks to the cooperation between the two countries. Good agreements have been reached on this issue."
He added that the meeting between the two sides demonstrated the intention of Al-Kadhimi to develop relations with Tehran at all levels and put the previous agreements into effect."
He described the relations with Iraq as: "It is not limited by political, economic, cultural or security frameworks, but covers all fields."
Wazi expressed his satisfaction with the consolidation of cultural and religious relations between the two countries and the close relations with the religious authority, pointing to dealing with political and regional affairs during the talks.
He pointed out that "Iran has very good experiences in the field of fighting the outbreak of the Corona virus, as they discussed with the Iraqi side about strengthening cooperation in this regard, and it was decided to transfer Iranian experiences and achievements as well as providing Iraq with medical equipment and medicines." / End
