A statement by the Turkish Ministry of Defense stated that the Turkish army managed to neutralize two terrorists from the separatist organization PKK with an air strike carried out by its aircraft on the organization's strongholds in northern Iraq.
It added that the air force carried out a raid on the terrorist hideouts in the "Haftanin" area after the terrorists detected two elements of the organization.
It pointed out that the raid resulted in the neutralization of the terrorists.
Ankara regularly launches raids on PKK sites in northern Iraq, classifying it as a terrorist organization.
The party took up arms for three decades to obtain an autonomous area for the Kurds, before it declared a ceasefire in 2015. Since the start of the conflict between the two sides, more than 40,000 people have been killed. / End
