Baghdad / NINA /- The Security Media Cell announced that nine drones attempted to target military sites in Basra were shot down.
In a statement, it said: "As part of the ongoing monitoring of security developments, specialized defenses were able to detect and down two drones that attempted to target a military site inside Imam Ali Air Base in Dhi Qar Governorate. This was followed by the downing of two more drones that attempted to target the same site."
It added: "At different times yesterday, five more drones that attempted to target military sites in Basra Governorate were detected and downed. This brings the total number of downed drones to nine, with no casualties or material losses reported."
The relevant authorities affirmed their continued commitment to maintaining the highest levels of readiness and confronting any threat to the security and safety of military units and installations, while continuing investigations and necessary procedures according to established protocols. /End
