Baghdad / NINA / -A joint force from the 16th Brigade within the Kirkuk and East Tigris Operations Command of the Popular Mobilization Forces and the army thwarted, on Friday evening, an attack by the remnants of the terrorist ISIS southwest of Kirkuk Governorate.
The media of the popular Mobilization Forces said in a statement: “A group of ISIS terrorist remnants attacked the force while performing their duty within Daquq sector, before the joint force confronted them with direct fire, forcing them to flee.”
A supporting force from the Special Forces Regiment of the Kirkuk and East Tigris Operations Command departed to track down the fleeing terrorist elements, and search operations are still ongoing./End
