Two Turkish Soldiers Killed In An Attack By Kurdish Militants In Northern Iraq

Istanbul / NINA /- The Turkish Ministry of Defense announced that two Turkish soldiers were killed in an attack by militants of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in northern Iraq.

The Turkish defense stated in a statement at dawn today, Monday, that one of the Turkish army units in charge of operations to lock the claw, in northern Iraq, was attacked by an armed group of the Kurdistan Workers Party, which led to the death of two Turkish soldiers.

In its statement, the Turkish defense indicated that the two wounded soldiers were immediately transferred to a nearby field hospital of the Turkish army, but they died as a result of their serious injuries.

It is noteworthy that the Turkish defense had announced earlier that six officers and 33 soldiers had been killed in its operations against the PKK militants in northern Iraq, bringing what the Turkish defense officially announced in terms of the losses of the Turkish army in the operations of what it called / Claw Lock / the killing of six officers and 34 soldiers and wounding 47 others since it began its operations on the eighteenth of April of last year./ End
