The Turkish Defense stated in a statement today, Tuesday, that units of the Turkish army in charge of Operation Lock Claw monitored the movements of Kurdish militants in several areas and launched armed operations during which they managed to kill 11 PKK militants, including leaders in the organization in northern Iraq.
In its statement, the Turkish Defense indicated that a number of weapons and quantities of ammunition were seized from the possession of the dead militants.
It added, "The only way for the PKK militants is to surrender themselves to justice, stressing that the Turkish forces will continue to fight terrorism in the region with determination (according to the statement)."
It is noteworthy that the Turkish army carried out a large-scale military operation on the 18th of last April and is still ongoing, called the Claw Lock against the strongholds of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) in the areas of Matina, Zab, Afshin and Bazian in northern Iraq./End
