Al-Badr said in a press statement that: Iraq officially approved the Russian drug / Avavavir / for experimental use in the treatment of people infected with Coronavirus in Iraq, noting that the approved drug is the scientific name and not commercial.
He pointed out that: Iraq has no problem supplying this treatment, whether from inside or outside the country, from a governmental or private laboratory, indicating that the details of the supply belong to the Ministry of Health and Environment.
He stressed that the Ministry of Health welcomes any party supplying the drug to Iraq according to the international controls of the approved manufacturing country, raw materials, and the success of the test.
He explained that (as of now it is known) that there is no vaccine or treatment for the Coronavirus, all over the world even in Russia is an experimental treatment.
He continued that what is announced in the world of reaching therapies and vaccines, experiences of its results are still different, including Russia, which has achieved positive results so far with Avavavir, which was advised to start testing it, and we are studying the results and we hope that it will prove its efficacy and effectiveness.
Avivavir is produced as part of a joint project of the Russian Direct Investment Fund and Khimarar drug manufacturing group, based on “Avavavir ", which was used in Japan in 2014 to treat difficult flu cases.
Av Avavavir's clinical tests showed it was safe to treat the Coronavirus without detecting any new side effects.
It should be noted that Russian laws allowed doctors to conduct rapid clinical tests in order to sell the drug in pharmacies of Russia after its registration in the list of drugs allowed to be taken officially. / End
