The Turkish Defense Ministry said in a statement today that one of the Turkish army units assigned as part of Operation Claw Lock in northern Iraq monitored movements of PKK militants, and after an exchange of fire managed to kill four of them, while the rest of the militants withdrew.
The Turkish army carried out a large-scale military operation on April 18 of last year, and it is still ongoing, dubbed Claw Lock, against the strongholds of the PKK in the regions of Matina, Zab, Afshin and Bazian in northern Iraq./ End
