Al-Tamimi said in a statement: "We have recently witnessed heinous crimes, including burning and rape of young children, cutting up bodies and using brutal methods in committing the crime, and the existence of a high crime tendency among the perpetrators. That is, schizophrenia, paranoia, or fear of society and other causes, and this requires studies of these phenomena by specialists, and then awareness-raising through the media, clerics and schools. "
He added: "The objectives of the criminal punishment are deterrence and achieving societal justice. The Iraqi Penal Code may tighten such crimes, as murder by burning carries the death penalty according to Article 406/1 / A, and even rape of young girls is punishable by death according to Article 393/2 of the Iraqi Penal Code."
The legal expert explained: "Among the causes of these crimes are drug use, unemployment, uncontrolled weapons, weak religious belief, and the effect of dubbed soap operas and others." / End
