A presidential statement said that "President Saleh met Monday with Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg at the Peace Palace in Baghdad," President stressed that “Iraq looks forward to working with brothers and friends to consolidate security and stability in the region, ease tensions and avoid an escalation that undermines regional and international peace prospects. Stressing the need to find a solution to the Syrian problem away from foreign interventions and military operations, and to seek assistance and urgent support for refugees and displaced by the Turkish incursion in northern Syria.
During the meeting, they discussed ways of developing bilateral relations, enhancing prospects of cooperation between the two friendly countries in various fields, as well as reviewing international efforts in the war on terrorism./ End
