A statement from the Iraqi embassy in Turkey stated that Al-Lajmawi received his Romanian counterpart today, Friday, in his office in the embassy building in Ankara.
During the meeting, they discussed relations between the two countries and ways to improve them to meet the ambitions of the two friendly peoples.
Ambassador Al-Lajmawi stressed, according to the statement, the need for relations between Baghdad and Bucharest to receive more attention, and to invest in the many and varied prospects for cooperation in all fields, especially with regard to political and economic aspects.
According to the statement, the two sides touched on regional and international issues of common interest, especially developments in the situation in Gaza City and the Zionist aggression against the occupied Palestinian territories.
For his part, the Romanian ambassador stressed his country's keenness to cooperate with Iraq at all levels, and in various economic, agricultural, industry and trade fields./End
