Al-Shammari said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that "the government's ability to hold the elections is represented in the issue of announcing the date and has announced that, in addition to providing financial allocations for the election commission and the security plan to create a safe environment for the elections and it is working on that."
He added, "holding the elections on time depends on the political will, and most political forces are unwilling to hold these early elections," noting that "these forces will impede the process of holding the elections, thus turning the issue of not holding elections on the government's ability."
Al-Shammari stressed the need to amend the political parties law, which allows for the use of political money and the state's use of its resources by influential parties, and allows weapons to carry out political agendas for the purpose of pressuring voters in a specific direction, and the executive, legislative and judicial authorities to achieve free and fair elections ./ End
