Harb said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that "there was no law requiring early elections, but the constitution allowed them to be taken place," noting that "all political blocs like not to hold early elections, and the reason for this is that these blocs are in the event of holding early elections might lose their seats and become a minority."
He added that "whoever participated in the previous elections is less than 30%, meaning that 70% did not participate. So if early elections were held and these 70% participated, all the political blocs if met in the new elected parliament, they will constitute a minority, so the result will be terrifying for the current MPs, therefore these blocs avoid holding early elections. "
Harb added that "the current electoral session has passed for two years and within more than 20 days, and until now, there is no election law and no early election procedure." / End
