Ramadi (NINA) – Ramadi sit-in Organizing Committee said that security forces surrounding the sit-in square in Ramadi have withdrew after hours of surrounding the square.
Member of the Organizing Committee, Mohammed Fayadh, told NINA on Friday evening, May 31, that tribal chiefs and dignitaries of Anbar intervened to deter the forces from staying near the sit-in square, north Ramadi, to prevent any friction with the protestors.
He added that the reason for the presence of Federal police, military and the Rapid Reaction Forces, was to arrest Sheikh Ali Hatim al-Sulaiman and Sheikh Mohammed Khamees Abu Reesha, because there are legal cases against them.
It is worth mentioning that large forces were deployed on the road leading to the protest area, northern Ramadi. / End.
