BAGHDAD / NINA / the General Commander of the Armed Forces Nuri al-Maliki headed today a meeting of the Iraqi National Security Council, which comprises ministers of foreign affairs, interior, finance, defense, justice and the national security adviser as well as a number of senior officers and security officials.
A statement by Maliki's office cited that "during the meeting, the latest developments in the Syrian crisis and its impact on the security situation in Iraq were discussed."
The statement noted that "the Special Committee which inspected the border areas with Syria submitted a report on the ongoing developments and measures to be taken. The Council adopted a series of resolutions concerning the organization of the process of receiving Syrians displaced and emphasizing on accommodate them in special camps and providing services as required." / End
