Mosul (NINA) – Lawyers and judges of Niniveh province staged on Monday, July 2, a sit-in protest in Niniveh Court, in response to the the assassination of the Head of Niniveh Criminal Court.
Judge Hojab al-Sabawi told NINA that all of Niniveh's judges and lawyers have staged a sit-in protest in response to the assassination of their colleague, Judge Abdul Lateef Mohammed Elias, Head of Niniveh Second Criminal Court.
The judge accused security agencies the responsibility for not providing adequate protection to judges and men of law in Niniveh; he added that they will not work at Courts of Appeal, unless security agencies provide protection to judges and lawyers.
On Sunday evening, gunmen assassinated head of Niniveh Second Criminal Court, Judge Abdul Lateef Mohammed Elias, in eastern Mosul. / End.
